The drywall lift family is built around one job: raising a full gypsum board or ceiling panel to height and holding it there while a single installer fastens it. Every unit uses a folding frame, a wheeled base and crank or winch lifting, so it can be moved between rooms and transported between sites without disassembly.
What Our Drywall Lift Range Covers

Short-Reach and Extended-Reach Configurations
Short-reach: 4 ft to 11 ft
The OY2161A and OY2161C cover the ceiling heights that dominate residential work and light commercial interiors. Both run to 11 ft at full extension and hold 150 lb, with a 38.5 kg gross weight that keeps the unit manageable for one operator and practical to move in a van or pickup. The folding frame and casters let a crew reposition the lift between rooms without breaking it down.
Extended-reach: 6 ft to 15 ft
The OY2161B and OY2161D run from 6 ft to 15 ft, which puts commercial fit-out, double-height residential rooms and mezzanine ceilings within reach of a single installer. The taller mast adds framing, so gross weight rises to 46 kg on the OY2161B. Base construction and leg spread are sized to keep the mast stable at full extension, and the wheeled base still allows repositioning between panel placements.
Height selection rule: measure to the finished ceiling face, not to the joist, and add the panel thickness. A lift that reaches exactly the ceiling height leaves no room to seat the board against the framing.
Panel Weight, Board Type and Load Margin
The 150 lb rated capacity is the figure that decides whether a lift suits a project, and it is set against the panels actually being installed rather than a nominal board size.
- Half-inch gypsum board is the default for interior walls; 5/8 in. boards are used on ceilings where stiffness, sound control or fire ratings apply.
- A standard 1/2 in. 4 × 8 ft panel typically weighs in the region of 50–60 lb, so the rated capacity carries a working margin for standard panels.
- Longer 12 ft sheets and 5/8 in. boards are heavier and need support along their length, not only at the centre of the cradle.
- Moisture-resistant boards for bathrooms and basements, fire-rated boards for garages and stairwells, cement backer board for wet areas and plywood or wood-pulp sheathing are all flat rigid panels that the cradle can carry.
- Ceiling framing at 24 in. on centre and the use of 54 in. boards change the number of lifts per room, so throughput matters as much as maximum reach.
Specifications We Confirm Before Production
Every drywall lift order is built to a confirmed specification sheet. The items below are the ones that change the build, the packaging or the container plan.
- Working height range — minimum and maximum, measured to the panel face.
- Rated load and the heaviest panel in the project.
- Cradle dimensions and the maximum panel width to be carried.
- Mast extension stages and the holding or locking method at height.

Site Workflow and Handling Integration
The operating cycle is straightforward: roll the lift under the opening, load the panel onto the cradle, crank to height, hold while fastening, then release and reposition. Because the lift carries the panel, the installer keeps both hands free for screws and adhesive, which is where the labour saving comes from on ceiling work.
Integration points on site are practical rather than electrical. Casters need a level floor, so on uneven slabs crews lay plywood runways. The folding frame has to pass doorways and stairwells, which is worth checking against the access route before a fleet is specified. Long 12 ft sheets are still easier to load onto the cradle with two people, even though the lift itself is a one-person tool.
Quality Control and Acceptance
Our Jiaxing plant runs a full-chain system from raw material machining to finished product shipment, with automated assembly lines and a testing laboratory on site. The factory holds ISO 9001 quality system certification, and core hydraulic products carry CE certification. Inspection is carried out through production rather than at the end of the line only.
For drywall lifts, the inspection record covers the points that decide whether the tool works on site: frame and weld integrity, mast extension and locking, crank and winch operation, brake hold at height, caster and base hardware, surface finish, hardware completeness and packaging condition. Where an order calls for documented acceptance, we agree the check items and the record format with the customer before production starts.

Maintenance, Spare Parts and Documentation
The wear points on a drywall lift are the crank or winch assembly, the cable or strap, the brake, the casters and the pivot hardware on the folding frame. These are the parts we keep available as low-cost spares so a distributor can support the tool through its working life rather than replacing it.
Each shipment is accompanied by the manual set agreed for the destination market, and operation video tutorials are available for end users and for distributor training. Long-term after-sales technical guidance is part of the supply arrangement, and quality-related replacements are handled under the terms agreed for the order.

What is the difference between the OY2161A, OY2161C, OY2161B and OY2161D?
The OY2161A and OY2161C are short-reach hoists with a 4–11 ft working range and 150 lb capacity, offered in two configurations so distributors can serve different installer preferences. The OY2161B and OY2161D are extended-reach units covering 6–15 ft, with the OY2161D built as the heavy-duty version of that height class.
Can one person install ceiling drywall with these lifts?
Yes. The lift carries the panel to height and holds it while the installer fastens, so no second person is needed to support the board overhead. Two people are still useful when loading long 12 ft sheets onto the cradle.
What panel sizes and weights can the lift handle?
All four hoists are rated at 150 lb. That covers standard 1/2 in. and 5/8 in. gypsum boards and comparable flat panels within the cradle dimensions. We confirm the heaviest panel in the project against the rating before the order is released.
Do you offer OEM branding and custom packaging for drywall lifts?
We do. Laser marking of your logo, custom colour boxes and cartons, and multi-language manuals are standard OEM options. Structure and parameter changes for a specific market are handled by our R&D team, and exclusive models can be developed from prototype through to mass production and testing.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Minimum order quantities are flexible on standard models. We accept small trial orders for market testing and scale to full-container volumes, where the unit price is more favourable. A 20 ft container takes 242 units of the short-reach models or 210 units of the extended-reach model.
