A tire balancer is a machine that corrects uneven weight distribution in a tire-and-wheel assembly. If the assembly is out of balance, it can produce vibrations, cause irregular tire wear, reduce driving performance, and shorten tire life. The machine generally relies on two key functions:
1. Mounting the assembly:The tire and wheel are placed onto a shaft or spindle. Cones or other fastening devices hold the assembly securely in position, ensuring stability and correct alignment during operation.
2. Balancing method:Two common approaches are static balancing and dynamic balancing. Static balancing locates the heavy spot by finding the center of gravity and then adds counterweights to offset the imbalance. Dynamic balancing does the same but while the assembly is spinning, allowing for more precise correction. Proper balancing plays a vital role in maximizing tire and wheel performance and extending their service life.
