The OY8533 2000LBS Safety-Lock Engine Stand is a heavy-duty support system engineered for professional engine builders, diesel repair shops, and industrial maintenance facilities where large-displacement engines and commercial power units are overhauled. With an outstanding rated capacity of 2,000LBS, it safely holds massive engine blocks including big-block V8s, inline 6-cylinder diesel engines, industrial power plants, and marine propulsion units during complete disassembly, component replacement, and reassembly. The defining safety feature is the integrated safety-lock mechanism—a secondary positive locking system independent of the primary rotation lock.
The operator rotates the engine to any desired angle using a robust handle, then engages both locks: the primary pin locks the rotation gear, while the safety-lock automatically drops into a secondary set of detents, providing redundant engagement. To release the safety lock, the operator must manually disengage it before rotating—a deliberate two-step process that prevents accidental unlocks. The four adjustable mounting arms are constructed from thick-wall steel with reinforced brackets, accommodating bolt patterns from compact 4-cylinder blocks to wide V8 and diesel configurations. Each arm is fitted with hardened steel mounting fingers and heavy-duty retaining bolts.
Durability for heavy daily use is ensured by a powder-coated finish that resists oil, grease, and chemical corrosion. The rotating head gear and safety-lock detents are case-hardened for extended service life under repeated loads.
