The OY5105D is the extended-capacity pick-up crane at the 2000LBS rating, doubling the load handling of the 1000 LBS standard model to cover the heavier engine and drivetrain assemblies found in trucks, diesel-engined commercial vehicles, and performance cars where engine weight exceeds 500 kg fully dressed. Operating a 1000 LBS crane near its limit on these heavier assemblies reduces safety margin and accelerates wear on all structural and mechanical components; the OY5105D's 2000LBS rating keeps these loads comfortably within the safe working zone.
The extended-capacity specification requires a heavier-gauge boom and a larger-bore hydraulic cylinder relative to the 1000 LBS model, reflecting the genuine engineering difference between the two capacity classes rather than simply relabeling the same structure. The additional mass of the 2000 LBS frame is the direct consequence of the structural scaling required to carry double the load safely.
