OY5109B 0.5Ton adjustable Engine Support

OY5109B 0.5Ton adjustable Engine Support provides in-vehicle engine support through a different mechanical architecture than the standard bar-and-hook models—using a telescopic floor-standing post that supports the engine from below rather than suspending it from above. This configuration is advantageous in vehicle types where the engine bay sill structures are insufficiently robust to carry overhead bar loads, or where access from above is restricted.
The telescopic column extends to match the distance between the workshop floor and the engine oil sump or gearbox casing, with the load distributed through a saddle pad that protects sensitive engine surfaces from metal-to-metal contact. Height adjustment is continuous within the operating range, allowing precise positioning without discrete locking positions that might not align exactly with the engine's natural hang position.
At 0.5-ton rated capacity, the OY5109B is matched to the same engine weight class as the bar-type models but reaches this capacity through a floor-reacting column rather than a body-spanning beam. This distinction makes the telescopic post compatible with a different subset of vehicle designs—primarily those with strong floor structures and accessible undersides.
The floor base of the telescopic post uses a wide, low-profile plate that sits flat on the workshop floor without requiring leveling or shimming in most scenarios. The base plate is perforated to reduce weight without compromising strength, and its low profile allows it to be positioned close to the vehicle without conflicting with workshop floor lift points or alignment fixtures.
For workshops that service both conventional and alternative-architecture vehicles—including front-engine rear-wheel-drive platforms where the gearbox is accessible from below—the OY5109B provides a complementary tool to overhead bar supports, completing the range of in-vehicle engine support options needed for a versatile service bay.

How to Use an Engine Stand Correctly Using an engine stand might seem straightforward, but it’s important to follow these steps for safety and efficiency: Secure the Engine: Attach the engine to the stand using the mounting arms, ensuring it is firmly held in place. Rotate Carefully: If your stand has a rotating head, turn the engine slowly and evenly to avoid damaging any parts. Check Stability: Always double-check the stability of the engine before beginning work. Ensure that the stand is level and the engine is secure. Work at Comfortable Angles: Use the rotation feature to adjust the engine’s position to a comfortable working angle.
