The Universal 2Ton Gross Beam Adaptor extends the functionality of the engine support bar system by providing a removable crossbeam extension that bridges across the engine bay or chassis opening and serves as the mounting point for engine chains, hoists, and support hooks in configurations where the standard bar cannot span the required distance. At 2-ton rated capacity, it handles the heaviest single engine assembly loads encountered in this product family.
The adaptor body is a precision-engineered steel beam with standardized end fittings that mate directly to engine support bars, porta-power components, and third-party support systems that use compatible connection standards. This broad compatibility allows the adaptor to function as a bridge component across multiple tool systems rather than being proprietary to a single product family.
Load attachment points are located at multiple positions along the adaptor length, allowing the chain or hook to be positioned directly over the engine's center of gravity regardless of where the support bar ends are anchored. This positional flexibility is crucial for balanced engine suspension—an off-center attachment point causes the engine to tilt and can allow it to slip from the support during lowering.
The adaptor's finish is a corrosion-resistant coating applied over a shot-blasted base, providing adhesion and protection suitable for the engine-bay environment where oil mist, condensation, and cleaning solvents are present during normal service operations. The coating color provides easy visual identification of the adaptor within a tool chest or rack.
For workshops that use engine support bars as their primary in-vehicle engine support system, the OY2503 provides the missing link for applications where standard bar reach is insufficient—completing the system for wide-bay commercial vehicles, extended engine platforms, and custom installations where standard geometry does not apply.
